If you have a child in elementary school, you may already be familiar with SpellingCity, a web site that uses a game-based approach to reinforcing literacy skills. Teachers submit their spelling lists to the site each week, and then students can look up, access, and practice those spelling words through games such as Hang Mouse, SpeedySpeller, and Word-O-Rama. Now, SpellingCity is available as an app for the iPad and iPhone (Android to be offered soon). Kids can practice their spelling words anytime and anywhere – no more excuses!
